Quality, Affordable Health Care

Description

The Reform Movement is committed to protecting existing health care programs such as the Affordable Care Act, Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program while simultaneously expanding health care coverage to all. Since the Affordable Care Act was signed into law in 2010, 20 million Americans have gained health insurance through marketplaces and 36 states plus the District of Columbia have expanded Medicaid, but many remain uninsured. We oppose any effort to weaken the Affordable Care Act or fundamentally alter Medicaid, including through state waivers, block grants, and work requirements. At the same time, we support proposals to increase access to health care, including state Medicaid expansion and a transition to a federal single-payer system such as Medicare for All.
